Comicstrips

Collecting comic strips dated back so far I cannot remember! But I know it was published in Huisgenoot (You), and every week I cut them out and filed them away!
Nowadays it is easier to collect them from www.kingfeatures.com, www.comics.com and www.arcamax.com. enough to fill several cd disks!
My collection include Hagar, Beetle Bailey, Phantom, Tarzan, Prince Valiant, Garfield, Andy Capp and Ripleys believe it or not and many more!
I surf regularly looking for different comicstrips or cartoons as well as pictures of animals, nature and abstract to use in presentations or my tutorials!

powerpoint presentation tutorials

My son Werner has a website www.encryptologic.co.za from where pc upgrades and new pc's may be purchased. They asked me to create eBook tutorials for them to include as free downloads;
I decided because of the animations etc produced in powerpoint I would rather create the tutorials in Powerpoint 2007 itself! So to date I have created +- 70 that explain effects, animation, motion, and more. The eBook may come later with more comprehension explainations, but for now we stay with the current format and ideas. There are lots of free ideas and stuff available so I basically collected the best and simple tips, combine them with mine and created a series to enjoy!
As soon as I figure out how to upload these PP tutor shows here I will give it a go!

On my http:\\outoppie-presentations.blogspot.com presentations blog you will find links on the sidebar to my Wikispaces site where free Tutorials are ready for download!
Or simply have a look at this blogs sidebar for a direct link!

Scale Modelling

Since moving to the Rural areas of Kwazulu Natal I had lots of time on my hands and starting doing 1/35th scale modelling. Mostly WW2 Military armor and figures. It is fun to assemble these kits, but even more so when you create an environment to depict a moment in time ie displaying the models in a diorama setting!
The most visited websites are www.armorama.com, www.rlm.at, www.track-link.net, www.missing-lynx.com, www.scalemodelindex.com where you will find most of the great sites with great dioramas
I have added an example to give you an idea what I mean!
This one is from one of the sites mentioned; with a scrathbuild boat, water made from resin, houses also scrathbuild etc.
I will post future tips on some of these methods to create great stuff!
